WRITTEN BY TOM SUTCLIFFE
“If you know the upland country halfway between Rhodes and Maclear, where the Naude’s Nek Pass just about touches the clouds, then you know some of the best trouting country God put on this fine planet. It is high altitude grassland, cold, sparse and remote, threaded throughout with mountain streams, all swift and clear and full of the promise of trout.
Accommodation at Vrederus Wild Trout
There are 2 cottages at Vrederus Wild Trout, both of which have outdoor lapa/boma fireplaces, indoor fireplaces, fully equipped kitchens and are located next to Naude’s Lake. For groups of 6-8 anglers, both cottages can be booked out together as a perfect base for a fishing tour.
